Back Hi.
We are running a RedHat AS 2.1 system as a server for a Progress-based application. About 15 different databases are running on the system and about 150 users are logging on to use the application. The "file-max" parameter is currently set to 65536, but at a couple of occations we have har a "Too many open files in system" message - causing a DB shutdown. The /proc/sys/fs/file-nr shows "65536 42002 65536" which indicates that maximum file handles has been reached. Has anybody tried to set the /proc/sys/fs/file-max beyond 65536?
Regards Ole
