  | | | Update 2 and Sendmail auth fails with mozilla client | Update 2 and Sendmail auth fails with mozilla client 2004-05-13 - By Alois Treindl
Back I updated our mail server to RHEL 3 U2 this afternoon.
The update includes a sendmail update to sendmail-8.12.11-3
Now I cannot submit any more mail from a mozilla client running on the
same system (submitting mail works from pine).
Mozilla hangs with a window showing 'sending mail ', and I have to abort it.
In the sendmail logfile /var/log/maillog I see entries like
May 13 16:12:37 as80 sendmail[13435]: i4DECbcV013435: hostname [IP
Address]: possible SMTP attack: command=AUTH, count=5
hostname and IP address are the DNS name/address of the server and the
client, which are identical.
I have now reverted to the previous sendmail release provided in RHEL 3
U1, which is sendmail-8.12.10-1
This release works.
Anyone understanding this kind of problem?
