Back Can anyone tell me if the installation of a usb driver on RH9 requires that the machine be rebooted to load the driver?
For example, if one wanted to use a USB keyboard which has 'hotkeys' that allow one touch access to programs (open office, internet browswer, etc) would it not be possible to code the driver as a daemon that can be stopped and started at the console, and set to run at boot time with chkconfig, all while *not* requiring a reboot after installation?
