If I try to su - from any user, it hangs. ps -aux reveals the process
immediately goes defunct, and then the pts/tty is useless until I kill
the parent. next step is to reboot, but I'd rather avoid that.
has anyone else run into this? I've searched through the archives and
could not find anything.
