PCMCIA disk mounting

PCMCIA disk mounting

Hello everyone.

I 'm a relatively new RedHat (but not Linux) user, running RHEL 3
WorkStation with all of the latest up2date patches (kernel 2.4.21-20.EL).

I am unable to mount a PCMCIA flash card drive, and /var/log shows this:

...cardmgr[7591]: executing: 'modprobe -r ide-cs '
...cardmgr[7591]: socket 0: ATA/IDE Fixed Disk
...cardmgr[7591]: executing: 'modprobe ide-cs '
...cardmgr[7591]: + modprobe: Can 't locate module ide-cs
...cardmgr[7591]: modprobe exited with status 255
...cardmgr[7591]: module /lib/modules/2.4.21-20.EL/pcmcia/ide-cs.o not
available
...cardmgr[7591]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily
unavailable

So, sure enough, module "ide-cs.o " doesn 't exist. I see that I have the
following:

/usr/src/linux-2.4.21-20.EL/drivers/ide/legacy/ide-cs.c

but no Makefile and no instructions on how to compile it. I 've searched
high and low on Google to no avail. Can someone who 's trod down this
road before give me some help?

thanks!
Keith
