Hello
I hope someone can help me out here. On the package set, what is the real
difference between Redhat Desktop and WS ?
I have one system running RHEL WS that I bought last year that 's now is
expiring. I called the sales and wanted to switch to RHEL WS Academic edition
and she told me Redhat doesn 't have that anymore. It 's now become RH
Desktop. And the only way to switch to the academic edition is to do a clean
re-install. What The Heck ?!!??! The whole point of going with RHEL is so
that I don 't have to do all that.
Last year when I bought the RHEL WS on a full price (before Redhat has
Academic version) the sales guy told me that this year I can switch to the
Academic version of WS (cheaper price). Now they decided to change that
again....
I also have 3 other system running RHEL WS academic version.
$ > cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon Update 3)
I have to re-install them all when the subscription expire, or what?
Thanks for any info anyone can give.
