Hi Everyone.

I 'm having an issue with a new Dell Poweredge 700 server. It has the Adaptec
CERC SATA Raid card in it with 6 channels, but I only have 3 160G hard
drives in it.

Anytime someone on the network copies fairly large files to it, the server
lags extremely bad. The processor usage spikes to 100% and stays there, and
when I check TOP, I see 199% IO wait. The mouse will hardly move smoothly on
the server while this is happening.

I 'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue, so I thought I would
ask the list first, in the event someone else has this server and has come
across it.
