  | | | Apache 2.0.46 and mod_auth_kerb | Apache 2.0.46 and mod_auth_kerb 2004-10-28 - By Preston, Gabriel
Back Hello-
I have RHEL 3.0 installed on a few of our servers here, and I wanted to
implement mod_auth_kerb (
http://modauthkerb.sourceforge.net/index.html
) with
the already installed Apache 2.0.46 RPM. I am developing a few web-based
administration pages for some projects and want to be able to authenticate
our users against Kerberos 5 which we already have set up and working
properly on the servers (works for console login, ssh, sudo, etc).
In order to do this, am I going to be able to compile mod_auth_kerb from
source and install it directly in, or will I have to the alternative route
and rebuild the Apache SRPM and modify it to also include the mod_auth_kerb
source at compile-time? I had tried this morning to compile from source
with:
./configure --with-krb4=no --with-krb5=/usr/kerberos
and it errored out on:
checking for apxs... no
configure: error: failed to find apache apxs executable
I 'm not sure how to find the apache apxs executable, so it made me start
thinking that I may have to rebuild the SRPM and go from there.
If this doesn 't make sense, I apologize. It is still pretty early and I 'm
still a little groggy.
Thanks for your time,
-gabriel
