sun type 6 keyboard

sun type 6 keyboard

Anyone know if the sun type 6 keyboard can be supported with
functionality for the left hand side keys under RH E ?

Specifically, I want to enable the following;

cut
paste
open
front
etc

I have had a look at this (
http://www.infosun.fmi.uni-passau.de/~nils/type6/ )

which seems to indicate that;

1. It can be done.
2. That it was done via patching the Xfree X server - something which
ideally I would prefer not to mod.
3. That there was an update, which was not posted, which avoided having
to patch the X server.
4. That the author had made a suggestion to xfree.org to include his
patch, which was rejected - the link as to the reason why is dead.

I also had a look here (
http://wwwcip.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/~simigern/sunray-debian/ )

which suggested adding the following;

The key-mappings are wrong. You can use the following xmodmap to solve
the problem:

keycode 91 = KP_Divide XF86_Ungrab
keycode 92 = KP_Multiply XF86_ClearGrab
keycode 93 = KP_Subtract
keycode 94 = KP_Add
keycode 95 = KP_Enter
keycode 96 = KP_End KP_1
keycode 97 = KP_Down KP_2
keycode 98 = KP_Next KP_3
keycode 99 = KP_Left KP_4
keycode 100 = KP_Begin KP_5
keycode 101 = KP_Right KP_6
keycode 102 = KP_Home KP_7
keycode 103 = KP_Up KP_8
keycode 104 = KP_Prior KP_9
keycode 105 = KP_Insert KP_0
keycode 106 = KP_Delete KP_Decimal

However this seems to address the right-hand side of the keyboard, ie the numbers keypad.

Tks,

-Bob
