timeout in autofs

timeout in autofs

2004-11-12       - By David Juran

 Back
I 've noticed that in /etc/sysconfig/autofs from autofs-4.1.3-12 the
default 5 minute automounter time out is decreased to one minute. Does
anyone know the reason for this?
We are suffering from a heavily overloaded NFS server which occasionally
times out mount requests so we were thinking to make life a bit easier
for it by increasing the time out to an hour. Does anyone here think
this might be a bad idea?
