problems detecting perc4

problems detecting perc4

i 'm running rhel3 u3 on several dell 1600sc 's. we just purchased raid
cards (perc4) for these machines. on boot, kudzu detects the card and
adds appropriate entries to /etc/modules.conf and /etc/sysconfig/hwconf
(both referencing the megaraid driver). however, the module is never
actually loaded. i can insmod megaraid/megaraid2 by hand, and when i
do /dev/sdb magically shows itself. but the module doesn 't load during
boot time, and because of this i get dropped to the repair shell during
boot because my /etc/fstab references /dev/sdb1 (which doesn 't exist
since the module 's not loaded).

has anyone else seen issues like this before? i went to linux.dell.com
and had no luck, and google didn 't pull up anything.
