Back Hi,
I have a (Supermicro) system with 2 on-board Intel Gigabit NIC 's
and an Intel Pro/1000 MT 4-port Gigabit adapter (PWLA8494MT).
Using eth0 (first on-board) works fine. For the rest, eth1-eth4 are
the 4 ports on the Pro/1000 MT, eth5 is the second on-board port
(strange order, but that 's the case).
As soon as we configure one of the eth1-eth4 (that is, do a "ifup " for
that port), the system immediately hangs: no (console) message, no
keyboard funtioning, only the reset button works. Kernel 2.4.21-20.EL.
