  | | | automounter tries to mount non-existant mounts | automounter tries to mount non-existant mounts 2004-11-23 - By David Juran
Back I 've noticed some slightly weird behaviour in the automounter lately. I
have an automounter mount point /nfs/vm. Now if I do
ls /nfs/vm/foo (and in auto.vm there is no such entry foo) I still get
a line in the syslog saying
Nov 23 14:10:26 david automount[29010]: failed to mount /nfs/vm/foo
So it seems like the automounter tries to mount this directory although
it 's not in the map. Is this a bug? It doesn 't pose any problem (yet?)
but it still seems a bit weird.
ypcat -k auto.master yields
/- auto.direct -rw
/users auto.users -rw
/nfs/ipatinga/isosrv auto.isosrv -ro
/nfs/vm auto.vm -rw
and auto.vm looks like
CarmenConsulting -proto=tcp,nointr lehrter:/lfs/vm/&
TI -proto=tcp,nointr lehrter:/lfs/vm/&
descartes -proto=tcp,nointr lehrter:/lfs/vm/&
.
.
.
Any ideas?
