Bus Error Message

Bus Error Message

Hi All,

Last night during a Doom3 binary update, my system crashed to the command
line. After trying to restart KDE, I found that it errors with the following
"Bus Error ". I 've checked all the logs, and I can 't find out what is causing
this error.

When I try to restart KDE with the 'startx ' command, it brings up the Nvidia
logo, then a graphics desktop. And then prints and error "Can 't start kdeinit.
Check your configuration ". I can 't find anything wrong with my KDE configuration.

Has anyone else come across this error(s) before??

I 'm running RHEL3 with ALL the updates, on a Dual Athlon MP system. I know it
can 't be a hardware problem, as this system has run RH8.0 and RH9 without errors.

Oh, and the strange this is, if I try to run apt-get, this gives me the same
'bus error ' and nothing else.

Wolf
