Well, I certainly got rid of my Network Places problem (unaccessible msg from
Win
XP), and firewall difficulty in one fell swoop. This detour was prompted by
installing Win XP SP2. I contacted McAfee by chat. I was using their firewall
product
when the SP2 update tangled it up. I was asked by the tech person during the
chat if
I wanted to keep Win or McAfee firewall. I replied not Win firewall. She then
sent me
a set of instructions to remove it. I printed it and it came out in small type,
but I
could make it out. I started down the road to following the removal of Win
firewall
and found it was really a removal of McAfee! Too late. I completed the removal.
MS is
now my firewall, and I *seem* to be over my network and general firewall
protection
problem.
Back to swat.
