Back Hi all,
I have a P4 with Hyper-Threading that is acting wierd. Hyper-Threading is enabled in the BIOS and the BIOS splash screen shows 2 cpu's. The problem is that the kernel only recgonizes 1 cpu.
(indy pts1) # cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 15 model : 2 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz stepping : 9 cpu MHz : 2800.839 cache size : 512 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 2 runqueue : 0 fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm bogomips : 5583.66
(indy pts1) # uname -r 2.4.21-23.ELsmp (indy pts1) #
I do see this message in dmesg: SMP motherboard not detected.
Is there something I have to enable to get this to work?
Anyone have any idea why this is not showing both cpu's??
Regards,
Tom
