Back Hi there,
We are building a couple of dual-CPU EM64T servers with RHEL3-AS at the moment. When we go to install redhat-config-printer, however, it depends on a lot of packages that we don't want to install.
Is there a way to set up printing on an RHEL3-AS box that doesn't require so many packages (such as alchemist, ghostscript, PyXML etc.)?
There doesn't seem to be a redhat-config-printer-tui package for the AMD64/EM64T channel... does anyone know why not?
My colleague asks: Is there a way to just use the /etc/printcap file to control printer configuration, rather than use the redhat-config-printer* packages?
Thanks in advance, Guy.
