Roland,

Can you ping 192.168.100.254 from your XP machine? Have you tried
rebooting the XP machine? It may be a network issue rather than a
problem with samba. Try running "tracert 192.168.100.254" from the XP
machine as well and post back the output.

I am running RH9 and suddenly samba does not react anymore
My server: 192.168.100.254
In windows Xp: Start -> Run -> \\192.168.100.254\homes doesn't give any
