Back Hi all,
I have a program called BigSender, which is a perl based CGI for managing a mailing list. I've been using it for years, and so far the support and responsiveness of the author have been great when it comes to features/bugs in his program.
However, this time, the problem seems to be with my system configuration... so I need your help.
I have a copy installed on the 7.3 system, and a copy installed on the ES3 (newer system, so I am migrating all services over to it)
when someone subscribes to the mailing list they are supposed to get a welcome message, and the admin is supposed to get a "new user has joined" message.
BigSender is generating both of these messages, with the proper To: and From:
However, only on the ES3 system, the user ends up getting BOTH of these messages???
Here are both messages with full headers, as received by my gmail account:
this is the message intended for the admin, which should have been sent to "mailnglist@(protected)":
> X-Gmail-Received: a126a611a0f00fcd0f5dcc24374ccb57cd5c12e9 > Delivered-To: acarmi@(protected) > Received: by 10.38.89.22 with SMTP id m22cs4505rnb; > Wed, 5 Jan 2005 14:03:47 -0800 (PST) > Received: by 10.54.40.55 with SMTP id n55mr217008wrn; > Wed, 05 Jan 2005 14:02:07 -0800 (PST) > Return-Path: <mailinglisterrors@(protected)> > Received: from ns4.otn.com (206-72-86-4.otn.com [206.72.86.4]) > by mx.gmail.com with ESMTP id 66si324191wra; > Wed, 05 Jan 2005 14:02:07 -0800 (PST) > Received-SPF: neutral (gmail.com: 206.72.86.4 is neither permitted nor > denied by domain of mailinglisterrors@(protected)) > Received: from 127.0.0.1 (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) > by ns4.otn.com (Postfix) with SMTP id 216E039F1 > for <acarmi@(protected)>; Wed, 5 Jan 2005 14:02:04 -0800 (PST) > X-Mailer: BigSender http://CraigRichards.com/software > X-Mailer-Version: 3.6795 > Mime-Version: 1.0 > Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=boundary-BigSender > X-Priority: 3 > Importance: Normal > X-MSMail-Priority: Normal > X-MimeOLE: Produced by BigSender 3.6795 > Errors-To: mailinglisterrors@(protected) > Reply-To: "avitest carmitest" <acarmi@(protected)> > From: "avitest carmitest" <acarmi@(protected)> > To: mailinglist@(protected) > Subject: added: Aura's Kitchen Mailing List > Message-Id: <20050105220205.216E039F1@(protected)> > Date: Wed, 5 Jan 2005 14:02:05 -0800 (PST) > > --boundary-BigSender > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII > Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit > > > A record for avitest carmitest <acarmi@(protected)> has been added to > Aura's Kitchen Mailing List > > Address: testing > bsdatestamp: 01/05/2005 14:01:36 > bsuserip: 206.72.86.42
This is the only message the user is supposed to get:

Or you may try it by subscribing and you will see both messages with the full headers. (very low volume list, next newsletter will be in Feb) http://mailinglist.auraskitchen.com/cgi-bin/auraskitchen.cgi
thanks
