DNS resolving issue

I have a RHEL3 box that cannot resolve DNS names anymore. The
/etc/resolv.conf is the same as my other working box.

I tried switching from static to dhcp. I was able to get an ip address,
but cannot ping by dns name or run the host command.

This system is a Dell GX270 using the e1000 driver, and using kernel
2.4.21-27.ELsmp.

Any ideas?
