Our main campus server has crashed twice in the last month. No syslog
messages, nothing unusual on the screen, SSH sessions and the console
are unresponsive, but the system still responds to pings. The kernel
was running 2.4.21-27.0.1.EL during the first crash and 2.4.21-27.0.2.EL
during the second. The server runs Samba (PDC) and LDAP and does
on-campus routing. I'm using ReiserFS for one filesystem but there's
nothing else unusual about its configuration (no NFS, for example).
Any idea what's causing this? Any ideas on how to track down the cause?
