Back Hi all,
First off: I'm sorry for posting this question on the RHEL list. It's just that it's a very quick question (probably), and that you guys helped me out in a great way. :)
O.k., here goes: having good experiences with RHEL now, I'm looking into the free versions of Red Hat that contain a 2.6 Linux kernel (required for a project which depends on NPTL).
As a complication, unfortunately we are plagued by a terribly slow Internet conenction. :(
The good news (for me, at least): I am looking for a lean-mean development platform, a la the base installs of FreeBSD or Debian.
The question: which version can I best download for this from RHN? Ideally I'd like to perform a very basic installation of RH-9, such that I have the proper 2.6 Linux kernel, and little else.
Again, I'm sorry for the (probably) off-topic e-mail, and I will also look around myself. I do hope someone can give me a very quick answer though, such that I do not have to download multiple CD images...
Thanks a lot in advance, and cheers! Olaf
