In the latter case, I know the clones work really hard to ensure updates are available quickly. We'd likely move our 100 or so servers to a clone of RHEL if it weren't for the usefulness of RHN. Red Hat Support hasn't really resulted in a speed increase on fixes over posting a bug in bugzilla, really.
