Back I am looking to enable multicast routing on a firewall, which was originally built with RH E WS 3 U3.
It turns out that there is a requirement to enable multicast routing due to ntp multicasts.
My networking buddy says that to enable this, that;
/sbin/sysctl -w net.ipv4.conf.default.mc_forwarding=1
mc_forwarding needs to be enabled in the kernel. Now this is failing and he is suggesting that pimd (Protocol Independed Multicast routing daemon) is required. Now I cannot find a rpm for this, either from RHN or a google search. Can anyone multicast routing literate shed some light on this.
Tks,
-Bob
