need help configuring HP PSC1210xi USB printer to work

I am running RH9 (2.4.18 kernel) on an intel box and am trying to get my
HP PSC1210xi "all-in-one" printer to work.  It is a USB printer attached
via USB cable straight from the intel box's USB port to the printer USB
port.  Can anyone offer guidance to help me get this to work?  Thanks.
