  | | | Wget gives 403 (forbidden) on RHEL3 default page | Wget gives 403 (forbidden) on RHEL3 default page 2005-04-05 - By Jos Vos
Back Hi,
To my surprise I see that "wget" (and also the Nagios check_http plugin, not using "wget" AFAIK) gives a 403 (forbidden) error when accessing the default page (http://localhost/) of a freshly installed RHEL3 system.
But any web browser I tried (including "links") and also "curl" work fine with the default (welcome) page!
Confused... what is causing this difference in behavior?
Thanks,
