Tried that, it just check records for domain names, not what type of DNS
is running.

Didn't see the beginning of this thread so I don't know if you're
looking for a programming method or what not. Does
http://www.dnsreport.com/ offer you the info you're looking for in
the INFO status field of the NS category?
