Ok. I've solved my main problem for now.

I've stopped sendmail daemon. I've edited submit.mc and it looks like
this now:

include(`/usr/share/sendmail-cf/m4/cf.m4')
VERSIONID(`linux setup for Red Hat Linux')dnl
define(`confCF_VERSION', `Submit')
define(`__OSTYPE__', `')
define(`confTIME_ZONE', `USE_TZ')
define(`confDONT_INIT_GROUPS', `True')
MASQUERADE_AS(`mydomain.com')
FEATURE(`allmasquerade')
FEATURE(`masquerade_envelope')
FEATURE(`always_add_domain')
FEATURE(`msp', `[ip.of.mailgateway]')

What I just found out is that IP addresses needs to be in brackets. No
one told me :(
I will experiment with the nullclient feature too, but this works for
now.

What I can't do now is send email to local users. For that I think I
need to have sendmail run binded to localhost and some other nifty
settings...

/Christopher

You might try:

$cat /etc/mail/sendmail.mc

include(`/usr/share/sendmail-cf/m4/cf.m4')dnl
VERSIONID(`setup for Red Hat Linux')dnl
OSTYPE(`linux')dnl
define(`SMART_HOST',`mail.example.com.')
FEATURE(`nullclient',`$m')
dnl that's all there is

Let's face it, there's no Hollow Earth, no robots, and no 'mute rays.'
And even if there were, waxed paper is no defense.  I tried it.  Only
tinfoil works.
