I know how to enable it within vsftpd.conf .... What I am trying to find is the allowable format and available variables/tokens that can be used within the .message file (or whatever). The tcpwrapper tokens do not seem to do anything (%c or %h or ...).
As stated in the original message, for example, I would like the welcome message to insert the appropriate values for the indicated tokens.
cat welcome.message Welcome %U from %R to the ftp server. We have %N connections at %T. All activities are logged.
I have looked at all the vsftpd doco without success and am beginning to think that vsftpd is token challenged.
