Tokens in vsftp .message files

Tokens in vsftp .message files

2005-04-25       - By Mike Vanecek

 Back
One can create banner message files and directory message files with vsftpd. I
have been searching trying to find the format for those files without success.
For example, some ftp servers can use a .message file format to show the value
of variables (tokens) in the message:

cat .message

The time is %T.
This folder can only be used for uploading files and cannot be viewed.

or

cat welcome.message

Welcome %c from %h to the ftp server.
We have %N connections at %T.
          All activities are logged.

Is this possible with vsftpd and if so, would someone please point me to the
appropriate documentation for the tokens that can be used? I have tried
several and they are all ignored as tokens.
