I have two machines running RHEL3-U5.  Both are dual Opteron, running
64 bit.  Both are entitles.  One is WS and one is ES.  Both behave identically
with respect to the information below.

When I run up2date, it tells me there are three packages for upgrading.

[root@(protected) up2date]# up2date --list
Fetching Obsoletes list for channel: rhel-x86_64-es-3...
Fetching Obsoletes list for channel: rhel-x86_64-es-3-extras...

openoffice.org-libs                     1.1.2          24.2.0.EL3        i386

when I try to update these I get the following:

Testing package set / solving RPM inter-dependencies...

RPM package conflict error.  The message was:

file /usr/share/man/man1/bonobo-activation-server.1.gz from install of bonobo
-activation-2.2.2-1 conflicts with file from package bonobo-activation-2.2.2-1

If I do an rpm -qa, I see that every one of these "packages added to your
selection" is already installed, with an exact version and release match
to the above list reported by up2date.

I did an up2date -p to re-synchronize, but it made no difference.  What gives?

What do I do to get past this problem?

thanks,
-chuck
