Hi Ed.
Yeah, I tried the instructions. Initially I had a very slow clock. I added
the noapic, nosmp, nolapic etc, and then my clock was running fast. Tried
the clock=pmtmr ontop of that, and didn't help.
I cant get the vmware tools to install properly, so I cant sync off the host
clock. Vmware tools cause X to not boot. So my last chance is to try the
hz=100 option.
Did you get the vmware tools installed properly?

I use VMware Workstation and following the instuctions on the VMware site
allowed the clock to work just fine without any changes to the kernel.
Have you tried VMware's workarounds for 2.6 Kernels?
