SiS's documentation says that 661FX is the northbridge, hence it does not handle lower level functions such as mass storage. It needs to be coupled with a south-bridge which handles mass storage among other things. The suggested south-bridge chip (963L) does not have SATA-capability. You might be better off with RHEL4 than RHEL3 anyways.
