SOLVED:

A helpful email asked that I look for any file over 2 gigabytes on the
machine. Turns out psacct was turned on and the /var/log/pacct had
gone over 2 gigs. So everytime host was run it was trying to write to
a file larger than allowed.

I am not sure if this is a bug or a works as it should
