File permission problem

File permission problem

Hi,

Can anyone help us solve the strange phenomenon we have?

The file permission keeps changing each time a new file is
created.

When I do this,
$ touch foo
$ touch bar
$ touch FOOBAR

I get this,
$ ls -al
$ -rwx--s--- foo
$ --wx--x--- bar
$ -r-S--s--T FOOBAR

umask seems to be OK.
$ umask
$ 0022

This is the 2nd time it is happening to us. 1st time we
just decided to replace the server, but now we really need
to find out what's going on. Both times the phenomenon
started suddenly, without changing any configuration,
unless we've done it not knowing.

It happens under any user, manually or automatically(by
scripts or programs), unless the permission is specified.

I'm posting to this mailing-list simply because our server
is Taroon. I hope I picked the right one.

Thanks
Yoshi Kumagai
