Back Hi,
I have a server running Red Hat Linux 9 with the latest updates from the fedoralegacy project.
I just noticed that the df and du commands give discording info:
# df -h / Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda2 32G 29G 1.7G 95% /
# du --max-depth=1 -h 16K ./lost+found 11M ./boot 424K ./dev du: cannot change to directory `./proc/2839/fd': No such file or directory du: cannot change to directory `./proc/13337/fd': No such file or directory du: cannot change to directory `./proc/28963/fd': No such file or directory du: `./proc/31496/fd/4': No such file or directory 1.0K ./proc 5.3G ./var 13M ./tmp 7.4M ./etc 2.1M ./root 1.2G ./usr 4.6M ./bin 6.4G ./home 4.0K ./initrd 80M ./lib 4.0K ./mnt 5.5M ./opt 12M ./sbin 4.0K ./misc 13G
What is the correct info?
I am worried about the partition filling up soon, since df says only 1.7G are free.
How can I figure out what is the correct space utilization?
Thanks.
