On taroon:
$ rpm -qf `which net` samba-client-3.0.9-1.3E.2
The man page is in the same package so I don't know how you ended up with the man page and not the command. I double-checked and the man page is not included in samba or samba-common.
$ rpm -qf /usr/share/man/man8/net.8.gz samba-client-3.0.9-1.3E.2
