System hang on dd

System hang on dd

Good evening.

I've just had my system hang completely twice doing dd if=drvnet.img
of=/dev/fd0 bs= 1440k.   Any ideas why it would hang the system?  Do I
need count=1?

I'm running RHEL 3.0 ES U4 on a system with Athlon2200+ cpus.
