Back More than likely, yes, assuming the disk is still good. Once you've booted the other system with this disk, you can get a partition list with 'fdisk -l /dev/hdX' where X is the drive letter. You can then mount up the partitions you need and access the data.
This assumes that the other system supports the filesystem type(s) used on the downed system.

I have a Linux server with 2 Hard disks (IDE).
The machine went down and refuses to boot.
I need to recover some data from one of the disks.
Can I put this drive in a different Linux box and recover tha data I need.
