Please excuse my ignorance, but yum is new to me and
very confusing.  I found the following websites
explaining yum:
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Fedora-Multimedia-Installation-HOWTO/x46.html
http://www.brandonhutchinson.com/Fedora_apt_and_yum_repositories.html
and http://www.xades.com/proj/fedora_repos.html.  

But so far nothing I've been reading matches my setup,
fedora core 4.  

Also I?ve looked through some of the repositories
mentioned, fedora.redhat.com/download and
rpm.livna.org but so far I have not found mysql-server
rpm on those sites.
