Problem with Beowulf

Problem with Beowulf

2005-07-11       - By 13200178 Hendra Tampang Allo

 Back
I tried to build a beowulf cluster with 3 cpu and one of them act as
master. I used Redhat 9 as OS. Passwordless login using rsh between cpu
was done and
I installed mpich 1.2.6 and no problem. But when I tried to run 'mpirun
-np
3 ./cpi',
there was a message like this :

process 0 of 3 on master
process 1 of 3 on master
process 2 of 3 on master
pi is approximately (a number), Error is (a number)
wall clock time is (a number)

I thought that the message should be like this :
process 0 of 3 on master
process 1 of 3 on slave1
process 2 of 3 on slave2
....

I have put "master, slave1, slave2" in
/usr/local/mpich-1 (See http://ich-1.ora-code.com).2.6/share/machine.LINUX but it doesn't work like it
should do. I used a reference from site
http://blizzard.rwic.und.edu/~nordlie/deuce

Can anyone help me? I will use this cluster for my final project.
Thanks very much.
