Another possibility is that they were removed because of the Red Hat Application Server, which I believe switched to using JPackage. > > Try JPackage's mysql-connector-java (same as mysql.com's "Connector/J"): > > > > http://jpackage.org/rpm.php?id=2559 > > Thanks, but not what I need.
What is it that you need, then? I thought you were looking for a MySQL JDBC driver. If you just want one called "mysql-jdbc", it looks like there was one in FC2 that you can download here:
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/2/i386/mysql-jdbc-3.0.8-2.noarch.html
By the way, the "-tomcat" package is just a symlink from /usr/share/tomcat/common/lib/mysql-jdbc.jar -> /usr/share/java/mysql-jdbc.jar But if you're going to be using Java with RHEL, I highly recommend JPackage.
