Best choice is linux-ha (heartbeat), it doesn't require quorum and if you
need 'simulated' shared storage (to avoid mantaining syncronized copies of
your files between the two machines) you can use DRBD.
I'm running this setup since many years for BIND, Samba, etc without
problems.
