What file system is on the shared disk? What Cluster Management software
are you using?

Per oracle, you will use Oracle's Cluster Manager (oracm) and OCFS (oracle
clustering file system) to achieve this -- at least with 9i R2.

The Cluster Manager needs to be installed first (and running), you need to
have the shared disk mounted and you need to have the interconnect set up
on the machine. Once that is done, you need to install the Oracle Software.
This can be a little trick in itself (at least on 64 bit RHEL) to get the
order right and for the pieces to actually see all of the needed pieces at
install time (though it is supposedly possible to convert to rac after you
already have a DB also)

The Cluster Manager is on the DB Install CDs (it is an install option).
OCFS is downloadable from oss.oracle.com (don't use OCFS2 as it is only for
a 2.6 kernel)
