Could you provide a little more information about your setup? I may have missed your original post about your issue. Are you trying to print to an SMB printer? A remote CUPS server? A little more info about your exact setup might give us a better path.

Thanks for responding. The printer is a networked printer in the office. I am not sure whether it requires an IPP queue, an LPD queue, an SMB queue, an NCP queue or a Networked JetDirect queue. Right now I am trying to connect to it through a networked jetdirect queue using a LaserJet 4100 printer driver and the default options. The printer is accessed through an IP number but it is not connected to another Linux computer. If it is connected to any computer, it would be an XP system. Our network is a Novell network, but I don't know the username and password which would be required. In fact, nobody seems to have to use usernames and passwords to connect to it (of course they are all using XP). They only use the IP number. Thanks. Rick
