U6/MySQL 2005-09-29 - By Collins, Kevin (MindWorks)
Back Have you confirmed that it isn't actually running (ps -ef | grep mysqld)? On my FC1 system, every boot shows mysqld failed just like that, but it actually starts just fine. The problem is a timing issue in the rc script...

Hmmm... has anyone upgraded today & having problems with mysql? One of my servers just upgraded & mysqld will not restart. Logs seem give no clues whatsoever, just says 'mysqld: Starting MySQL: failed'
Sorry if the info is a bit vague, i'm not very experienced with mysql and I have very little to go on so far, looks like the release notes are not up yet either.
