ext3 extension on Storagetek 210 disk array 2005-10-07 - By Bob Flynn
Back Hi,
I have a question about extending ext3 partitions on a fibre attached Storagetek 210 disk array.
Is the necessary to create the ext3 partition upon the partition presented by the storagetek device after configuration via SANtricity, or should you use LVM to create a further logical layer between the filesystem and the disks.
Will LVM add anything, or can I simply extend the volume on SANtricity and then expand the ext3 partition ?
Basically I am trying to find the optimal way to partition the storagetek and allow for the expansion of the partitions in the future.
Tks,
-Bob
