Back Hi,
we are seeing some performance problems on our domino servers running fully patched EL3 U6 (2.4.21-37.ELsmp, 2GB RAM). It seems to be related to the memory consumption of the domino http task esspecially when running java agents. The http part of domino is suddenly not responding for up to 3 minutes.
The server seems to constantly swap in, but also swap out when running java agents.
vmstat 2 output:

top output of domino http task: 2955 notes 15 0 1453M 996M 782M S 99,9 49,6 216:49 0 http
So question is, why does free show 1.5G auf cache in memory? Is this normal? My answer to the performace problem would be buying another 2 GB Ram (http task alone uses 1453M?) but the free output worries me.
Maybe someone can give me a link of howto interpret the memory consumption of the http task memory consumption: 1453M 996M 782M
Thanks for any help Rainer
