If you boot to the Windows CD, you should be able to repartition the
drive with the utility during the install process.

I've had best luck installing windows first, then doing the linux
install second.  (when I want a dual boot machine that is).

Have you tried booting from the linux cd?  Perhaps the old linux install
is still there, and it just needs a reconfiguration of grub?
