Sorry for cluttering msg board (and your mailbox). When I try to boot from
Windows CD, it displays the following msg:
 
 Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuraton...
 
 Then the computer hangs.

I've had best luck installing windows first, then doing the linux
install second.  (when I want a dual boot machine that is).

Have you tried booting from the linux cd?  Perhaps the old linux install
is still there!  , and it   just needs a reconfiguration of grub?
